Teaching Interests

My clinical training in transitions of care equipped me with a strong background in both internal medicine and ambulatory care. I am privileged to practice as clinical pharmacy faculty at Larkin Community Hospital – Palm Springs Campus. In this role, I serve on an interprofessional team in order to optimize inpatient medication use, improve therapeutic outcomes, and provide patient-centered education.

Much like my students, I am a twenty-first-century learner. I incorporate active learning and clinical case vignettes into my teaching. One of my major pedagogical goals is to introduce students to clinical research in order to prepare them for future successes in community and clinical pharmacy practice.

Scholarly Interests

My primary scholarly interest is focused on pharmacist-driven medication reconciliation and the corresponding pharmacy-led effort to provide interprofessional education on this topic. I am also interested in patient adherence to antiretroviral pharmacotherapy, post-discharge bariatric medicine, advances in telehealth, and multimodal pain management.
