Research Foci

Dr. Uddin’s research interest focuses on film based drug formulation development mainly for buccal and sublingual administration.  In recent years film dosage forms have appeared as a very convenient tool as these can be efficient, cost-effective and patient compliant alternate for the conventional drug dosage forms. The film dosage form has the advantages of being easy and quickly soluble and self-administrable ability. The delivery system can be used for both systemic and local action via several routes such as oral, buccal, sublingual, ocular, and transdermal routes.  The goal of the research group is to explore the possibility of developing film dosage forms of existing drugs in other forms or drugs under development. The design of efficient films combines the knowledge of the pharmacological and pharmaceutical properties of drugs, polymer types, and efficient analytical methods.
